I'm thinking about making my own cloth menstrual pads. Can you give some useful advice from things you've learned making your own?  Thanks.

yeah i'm a nerd lol. i fell in love with this pad as i was working on it today and i really wish that it wasn't an order, and that it wasn't a OAK vintage print- that's pretty much all i had of this fabric, what's in the pad.

Hello ladies!

I'm not normally the type who would sew my own pads, but last night I realized I had an old pair of 100% cotton flannel (?) PJs that are too small to wear anymore. And I figured if I'm not going to wear them again, maybe I could check here to see if there was a really simple pattern and/or style someone could recommend for this type ( Read more... )

This is my first pad!! Well, my second if you include the test run. Which was basically testing to see if the shape was right. Anyway this is completely hand sewn, by choice, as my flatmate has a sewing machine but I'd rather sew when I want to, not just the times that she is home. pics show front and back plus a pad for size comparison

I was wondering if you don't turn and topstitch are there any hand sewin stitches you can use to prevent fraying edges? I know that a zigzag stitch on a machine would be good but I'm not sure you could do that by hand. Thanks :)

I am in the midst of creating a little post partum kit for my older sister and her first baby. So far I have made 8 overnight/post partum pads, 10 regular pads, and 7 pantyliners. I have also made 5 sets of breast pads, but am unsure of the needed absorbancy as I have never used them. Currently they are two layers of cotton terry with flannel on ( Read more... )
